MDPI English Writing Prize 2021

Good communication is fundamental to scientific research. With 25 years’ experience in publishing and research communication, MDPI understands the importance of good writing. For this reason, we have launched the MDPI Writing Prize, which aims to promote clear, high-quality prose that powerfully communicates key scientific concepts. We invite you to participate in this year’s competition.

The competition is open to authors whose first language is not English, and who are Ph.D. students or postdoctoral fellows at a research institute.

We invite authors to submit essays of up to 1000 words on the following topic:

How the COVID-19 pandemic has affected my research

1st prize: 500 CHF and a certificate

2nd prize: 250 CHF and a certificate

3rd prize: 100 CHF and a certificate

Submissions should be sent to [email protected] with the subject line “MDPI Writing Prize 2021”. The following should be included in the submission email:

‐ Author name;

‐ Author affiliation, including the address of your research institute;

‐ Name, address, and email address of your supervisor—this can be your Ph.D. supervisor, principal investigator, line manager, or equivalent;

‐ Title of your essay;

Entries will be assessed by the MDPI English Editing Department based on grammar, spelling, punctuation, phrasing, style and overall structure, and interest and relevance to the topic.

Submission Deadline: 14 November 2021

Winner Announcement: 26 November 2021
