Antibiotics 2021 Best Paper Awards (500 CHF)
We are pleased to announce the winners of the Antibiotics 2021 Best Paper Awards. All papers published in 2019 in Antibiotics were considered for the award. After a thorough evaluation of the originality and significance of the papers, citations, and downloads, the two winning papers, which were nominated by the journal Award Committee, have been selected.

Antibiotics 2020 Young Investigator Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that Antibiotics is now inviting nominations for the Antibiotics 2020 Young Investigator Award. This prize will be given to one young investigator in recognition of her/his excellence in the field of antibiotics. All nominations will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee led by the Section Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Jeffrey Lipman.
The prize:
– 2000 CHF (Swiss Francs);
– Option to publish one paper free of charge in Antibiotics after peer review before the end of December 2021;
– An engraved plaque.
Eligibility and Requirements:
– Must be below 35 years of age or have received their PhD no more than 10 years prior to 31 December 2020);
– Must have produced ground-breaking research and a significant contribution to the advancement of antibiotics;
– Candidates must be nominated by senior researchers, research directors, or department heads.
List of Documents for Nomination:
– Detailed Curriculum Vitae including an updated publication list and a list of the researcher’s own research grants;
– Birth certificate or other proof of age;
– Scanned copy of doctorate certificate;
– Signed nomination letters from two established senior scientists.

Antibiotics 2019 Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
As the Chair of the Travel Awards Evaluation Committee, I am pleased to announce the winner of the 2019 Antibiotics Travel Award.
The Evaluation Committee were very impressed with the high level of work presented, and after careful consideration, the Travel Award have been granted to Mr. Damien Cabral, a Ph.D. student at Brown University, Providence, RI, USA, who is working on characterizing the functional response of the gut microbiome to antibiotic therapy.
The winner will receive 800 Swiss Francs to be used to attend and participate at any academic conference in 2019.
It is also our pleasure to announce that as part of the reward, Antibiotics will offer the Top 10 candidates the opportunity to publish a paper with the publication fees waived. We would like to thank all applicants for their participation and interest in our journal.
We also thank our Evaluation Committee members, Drs. Gary A. Strobel, Patrice Courvalin and William M. Shafer, for their comprehensive evaluation of the candidates.

Antibiotics 2017 Travel Awards
Dear Colleagues,
As Editor-in-Chief of Antibiotics, I am pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 Antibiotics Travel Awards. The Evaluation Committee were very impressed with the high level of work presented and, after careful consideration, the two Travel Awards have been granted to Dr. Bimal Jana, a postdoctoral fellow at Ross University, Basseterre, St. Kitts, for his work on identifying chromosomal non-essential genes that are essential for MDR Klebsiella pneumoniae ST258 under the presence of therapeutically relevant concentrations of antimicrobial; and to Vera Pader, a Ph.D. student at Imperial College London, London, UK, working on the link between antibiotic resistance and virulence in Staphylococcus aureus.
The awards consist of 800 Swiss Francs each, and are available for the winners to use for attendance and participation in any academic conferences in 2017.
It is also our pleasure to announce that as part of the reward, Antibiotics will offer the Top 35 candidates the opportunity to publish a paper with the publication fees waived. We would like to thank all applicants for their participation and interest in our journal.
