CED-IADR/NOF Oral Health Research Congress 2021

As the largest multi-disciplinary oral health research association in Europe, the Continental European Division (CED-IADR) of the International Association for Dental Research, together with the Scandinavian Division (NOF), is looking forward to welcoming you at the 2021 CED-IADR/NOF Oral Health Research congress in Brussels, Belgium. This two-and-half-day event will present you with a broad scientific programme; state-of-the-art symposia, excellent keynote lectures, oral & poster presentations from a wide spectrum of dental disciplines, and workshops on research reporting.

Save the congress dates in your calendars: September 16-18, 2021.

As you all know, 2020 has been a challenging year. Besides the continuous pressure of COVID-19 restrictions we all are experiencing, oral health research was put on hold during Spring 2020. Due to the cancellation of the IADR centennial meeting in Washington, DC, USA (March 18-21, 2020), and the postponement of the PER-IADR congress in Marseille, France (September 10-12, 2020), many researchers did not have the opportunity to present their latest research findings and connect with colleagues. As a result, we learnt not to take real-life networking for granted.

It is, of course, difficult to predict how the COVID-19 situation will evolve in 2021 and which preventive medicine will be available. Be aware that, as a health organisation, we are closely monitoring the evolving restrictions to guarantee that all regulations in force at the time of the congress will be followed in preparation for the congress and during the congress. We are determined to ensure that you will experience some unique networking opportunities in whatever group size this will be possible.

Attending the CED-IADR/NOF Oral Health Research congress in Brussels, you will be invited to the CED-IADR/NOF Opening Ceremony & Reception on Thursday night, held at the magnificent historical Brussels city hall on the ‘Grand Place’ or ‘Grote Markt’. The CED-IADR/NOF Friday Get-Together will take place in a unique location with a real Brussels flavour. The modern and excellent congress venue ‘Square Convention Centre’ is located in the heart of Brussels, the capital of Belgium.

The multilingual city of Brussels is considered to be the de facto capital of the European Union (EU), giving you plenty of travel options (air travel, railway, car) and hotels (different price categories) to choose from. As a relatively small city, Brussels’ main tourist attractions, such as the Royal Palace, the Royal Gallery of St. Hubert, the Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Belgium, the Margritte Museum, the Parliament of Belgium and Manneken Pis, are within walking distance from the congress venue. Dine out in a traditional Belgian restaurant, or simply stroll around the famous city square ‘Grand Place’ or ‘Grote Markt’, whilst enjoying some Belgian fries in a paper cone.

Discover more of the city by using its super easy and fast public transport. Shop until you drop in the Avenue Louise area or visit the world famous landmark, the ‘Atomium’.

We are ready to restart our joint mission in advancing and improving oral health research, and it is therefore our pleasure to invite you to present your latest research at the 2021 CED-IADR/NOF Oral Health Research congress in Brussels, and to reconnect with your peers through rigorous exchange of research findings.

Hope to see you in Brussels!
