Dear Colleagues,
The issue aims at broad coverage of all related aspects of dyslipidaemia and atherosclerosis. Dyslipidaemia is one major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, which is the leading cause of death worldwide. This pathology can be due to a wrong diet and lifestyle but can also be a genetic problem. To deepen the knowledge about familial dyslipidemias and their impact on lipid metabolism and consequently on atherosclerosis is one of the aims of this issue, as well as currently available treatments. On the other hand, it would be interesting to understand the relationship between the SARS-coV-2 virus and dyslipidaemia.
