Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The ferroelectricity, (anti)ferromagnetism, and ferroelasticity of multiferroics—materials which exhibit more than one ferroic ordering—are fascinating objects for fundamental and experimental studies as well as technological applications due to complex coupling between ferroic properties. The recently discovered possibility to affect their structural state and functional properties via external stimuli and synthesis conditions opens up new perspectives in the area of technological applications. Latest developments in basic science, preparation methods, and measuring techniques provide effective tools to create novel technological materials with desired and controlled functionality.

This issue of Applied Sciences aims to summarize recent advances in single phase and composite multiferroics focusing on their structure–property relations with special attention to magnetic properties. Contributions include but are not limited to the following topics: synthesis, processing, theoretical, and experimental methods to study the structure and functional properties of multiferroics, domain wall phenomena, magnetoelectric coupling, magnetization and polarization switching, and applications of magnetic multiferroics.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
