Macrowine 2021

The 8th International Macrowine Conference (https://macrowine2020.com/index.php?p=welcome) on macromolecules and secondary metabolites of grapevine and wine will be held in digital format on June 23-30, 2021.  

The conference is jointly organized by University of Verona (prof. Maurizio Ugliano), Fondazione Edmund Mach (prof. Fulvio Mattivi) and University of Turin (prof. Luca Rolle).  

Macrowine 2021 will be the forum to discuss advances, challenges and future directions in wine research, with a particular focus on diversity and unicity of viticultural and winemaking practices  in the context of climate change and global markets.

  • Grapevine diversity and viticultural practices for sustainable grape growing
  • Microbial ecology from vineyard to consumption
  • Novel tools and strategies for precision and sustainable varietal and regional enology
  • Wine longevity and shelf-life
  • Chemical diversity of 'special' wine styles: fortified wines, passito style, botrytized and ice wines, orange wines, sparkling wines
  • Physiology of chemosensory perception, sensory science, consumers perception
