Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The recent advances in new technologies have resulted in a range of imaging and sensing tools for the assessment, diagnosis, and management of the health and pathology. New devices for the diagnosis and evaluation of patients should be developed with standardized rules and evidence-based patterns. Therefore, ultrasound imaging, electromyography, heart rhythm, blood pressure, respiration rates, inertial sensors, and motion captors for biomechanics currently play an important role in healthcare.

Currently, a considerable number of portable and nonportable remote sensing devices are available on the market for the real-time assessment, diagnosis, and management of individuals with pathology. However, it is necessary to develop evidence-based patterns and standardized rules to improve control and health assessment.

In this context, many clinicians and researchers are working to evaluate the reliability and validity of technological tools and their implementation in health-related areas. Thus, I would like to invite researchers from across the world to contribute their expertise, insights, and findings in the form of novel and original research articles and reviews for this Special Issue entitled “Biosensors and Health”.

The Special Issue will cover innovative solutions of biosensor technologies regarding assessment, quantification, diagnosis, and therapeutic techniques, concerning health.

Especially we encourage the submission of interdisciplinary work and multicountry collaborative research. We welcome novel research papers using different study designs as well as systematic reviews and meta-analyses.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Biosensors is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
