Cancer Therapy

A section of Cancers (ISSN 2072-6694).

Section Information

In the last decades, cancer therapies have substantially improved cancer care and patients’ survival. The introduction of targeted therapies had a major impact on the management of cancer. However, millions of people still die from cancer every year and cancer drug resistance remains the Achilles' heel of cancer chemotherapeutics. Thanks to our increasing knowledge and understanding of the pathology, new cancer cells phenotypes and drug targets have emerged in the last years. The role of the tumor microenvironment in cancer promotion and progression as well as the plastic and dynamic nature of the disease have been unraveled and now pave the way to the development of new and innovative therapeutic strategies. In this section of Cancers, we aim at rapidly publishing contributions on all aspects of Cancer Therapy. We encourage the submission of manuscripts providing new and innovative therapeutic approaches as well as papers describing technologies and models developed for the discovery and the delivery of anticancer drugs. Systematic and perspective reviews are also welcome. Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Cancer therapeutics
  • Targeted therapy
  • Drug discovery
  • Drug repurposing
  • Structure-based design
  • Target-based design
  • Tumor drug delivery
  • Tumor drug distribution
  • Drug resistance
