Special Issue "Cloud Computing Security and Blockchain Technology"
A special issue of Computers (ISSN 2073-431X).
Deadline for manuscript submissions: 30 November 2021.
Recently, the race towards trusted distributed systems has attracted a huge interest, mostly due to the advances in blockchain platforms such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Currently, different blockchain platforms are competing to demonstrate their capabilities in different application domains. One such domain that can benefit immensely from this technology is cloud computing. Cloud computing provides a rich and dynamic environment where multiple tenants share physical and virtual resources, while guaranteeing flexibility and scalability. These benefits, however, come with some challenges, high among which is the essential collaboration between cloud or services providers and their customers to improve the offered services as well as the transparency in the implemented processes. The main question to ask here is how blockchain technology can be integrated into the existing cloud fabric and what benefits would it bring to the different players.
The aim of this Special Issue is to collect the most recent studies focusing on Blockchain and cloud computing. Our goal is to bring together researchers and experts from different IT communities, including Blockchain, Cloud Computing, distributed systems, IoT, security, etc., to share ideas, present use cases, validate results, identify challenges, and define the future directions of Blockchain and cloud computing research. The potential topics for the Special Issue include, but are not limited to:
- Blockchain benefit/challenges for cloud computing
- Blockchain-based security for the cloud
- Blockchain as a service
- Blockchain cloud applications
- Blockchain based cloud operations traceability
- Blockchain based trust management in the cloud
- Blockchain based automation in the cloud
- Blockchain protocols for cloud computing
- Blockchain data governance in the cloud
- Blockchain identity and identification management in the cloud
- Blockchain implications on existing cloud deployment models
