Dr. Amir Abbas Haghighirad Appointed Editor-in-Chief of the “Quantum Materials” Section of Condensed Matter
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Amir Abbas Haghighirad has been appointed Section Editor-in-Chief of the “Quantum Materials” Section of Condensed Matter (ISSN 2410-3896).
Dr. Haghighirad’s research career is built on exploring materials in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics with the main focus on crystal growth and physical characterization. His research combines solid-state physics, materials science, and chemistry. He has worked in these three fields and has made a distinctive contribution in each of them. Additionally, he has extensive experience in a wide spectrum of experimental methods, including X-ray diffraction and magnetic and thermodynamic techniques. He obtained his MSc at the University of Groningen in the group of Prof. T.T.M. Palstra and obtained his Ph.D. in 2009 from Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main, under the supervision of Prof. W. Assmus. In 2012, he was awarded a prestigious Royal Society Newton Research Fellowship, and, until 2017, he was Senior Research Assistant in the Clarendon Laboratory at the University of Oxford. Since 2017, he has been leading the research of materials development, crystal growth, and characterization in the Institute for Quantum Materials and Technologies at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Dr. Haghighirad is included in the ISI Highly Cited Researchers in the field of condensed matter, has more than 75 peer-reviewed publications, with more than 12,500 citations and a current Hirsch-index of 38 (Google Academic).
