Lasers in Dentistry

A section of Dentistry Journal (ISSN 2304-6767).

Section Information

This section of the Dentistry Journal aims to rapidly publish contributions on laser technologies, applications, education, therapy, etc. Lasers have been used in dentistry since 1982 to treat a number of dental problems. Lasers were introduced into the field of dentistry as they are a precise and effective way to perform many dental procedures. Treatment with lasers overcomes some of the disadvantages of conventional dental procedures. As the applications for, and research regarding dental lasers continues to expand, more and more dentists will use the technology to provide patients with precise treatment that may minimize pain and recovery time.

We welcome papers on scientific innovations, clinical and experimental research within the scope of laser dentistry and related fields. Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Lasers in periodontology
  • Lasers in dental implantology
  • Lasers for caries prevention
  • Lasers for caries removal and cavity preparation
  • Lasers and dental adhesions
  • Laser-supported endodontic treatments
  • Photobiomodulation (PBM) in dentistry
  • Lasers for minimal invasive dentistry
  • Laser-supported oral surgery
  • Bone surgery and osseousnecrosis
  • Fluorescence-supported oral cancer diagnosis and treatment
  • Laser fluorescence aid in the diagnosis of caries
  • Mechanism of laser action
  • Lasers in pediatric dentistry
  • Laser therapy in the treatment of oral cancer
  • PDT (photo dynamic therapy)
  • PAD (photo activated disinfection)
  • Laser education
  • Lasers in wound healing
