Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Professional or amateur athletes follow demanding training regimes to achieve optimal performance. Training incorporates strategies that coincide with risk factors for oral health complications such as dental caries and erosion. Such strategies include diet alteration to prevent dehydration, providing electrolytes to replace the losses caused by sweating. Additionally, reports from the literature indicate a significant oral health treatment need for athletes and suggest that there may be high levels of oral health problems.  A disease-free oral cavity's vital role in peak performance is often overlooked, and oral health may be compromised.

We want to invite you to submit in vitro studies, in vivo studies, clinical research studies, letters, critical/narrative reviews, and reviews. If you are interested in evidence-based dentistry and contributing to this topic, please refer to the keywords below and submit to this Special Issue.
