25 February 2022 Nanomaterials Webinar | Solar Energy Conversion and Storage


It is my pleasure to invite you to join the first webinar of the “Solar” section of the journal Nanomaterials.

The section, “Solar Energy and Solar Cells”, is a relatively new section, having been launched last year in 2021. It was born in response to the urgent need for clean energy and a better environment. The section aims to publish original high-quality research, communications, articles, and review articles in the broad areas of solar-related materials, devices, processes, and technology, as well as simulations, computational studies, and emerging machine learning applied to these research topics. It covers important research topics, such as solar cells, solar fuel, solar energy storage, and lifecycle analysis of solar-related materials and technology.

To achieve the goal of publishing high-quality, high-impact research in the areas of solar energy and solar cells, we have assembled an excellent editorial team, composed of 10 world-leading scientists. Through our efforts, we all hope to make contributions to the development of these strategically important areas.

As part of our joint efforts, today, I am pleased to host the webinar fully dedicated to Solar Energy. I am honored to introduce three of our editors, Prof. Bao-Lian Su (Belgium), Prof. Baoquan Sun (China) and Prof. Quinn Qiao (USA), who are all outstanding scientists. They are going to share with us their experience and strategies in addressing challenging energy and environmental issues.

17–31 May 2022 The 1st International Electronic Conference on Processes: Processes System Innovation (ECP2022)


It is our sincere pleasure and great honor to announce the 1st International Electronic Conference on Processes: Processes System Innovation (ECP2022), organized by the MDPI open-access journal Processes (ISSN: 2227-9717). This conference will present the latest studies in process/system-related research in chemistry, biology, material, energy, environment, food, pharmaceutical, and allied engineering fields. This conference is aimed and dedicates itself to providing networking possibilities for researchers, scientists, engineers and scholars to share their experience, amazing ideas and innovative research in the field of Materials Science and Engineering. In addition, this conference would also be a stand and to discuss practical issues, challenges encountered as well as the solutions adopted.

The material science and engineering research is undergoing a revolution as we head into Industry 4.0. Materials engineers are the ones who design and innovate new materials for applications and this has given rise to development of computer chips to biomedical devices to composites. With the advent of Industry 4.0, more expertise and research is needed in nanotechnology, automation and medical breakthroughs. The past materials engineers began with work on wood or ceramics but today, the focus is on biomaterials, sustainable materials, nanomaterials and advanced manufacturing.

The CoMSE 2022 conference committee is excited to invite authors and scholars from all over the world to be a part of this conference and share their innovative research progress with the academic and industrial world. 3–5 April 2022 The 17th UK Heat Transfer Conference (UKHTC 2021)

Manchester, UK

The 17th UK Heat Transfer conference will be held at the university where Osborne Reynolds and Thomas Stanton undertook their pioneering studies, the University of Manchester. The conference will provide an international forum for addressing a wide range of current research problems in heat transfer, both fundamental issues and industrial applications.

More than 100 contributed papers have now been accepted plus 7 keynote papers from experts around the world. Papers will be presented on all aspects of heat transfer, including:

  • Forced, natural and mixed convection,
  • Turbulence and turbulent heat transfer,
  • Two-phase flow, including boiling and condensation,
  • High and low Prandtl number effects,
  • Porous media and radiation.

There will, in addition, be special application-oriented sessions on heat transfer in three key industrial areas: solar energy; gas-turbine hot section components; and nuclear energy. Both oral and poster presentations of papers will be included.

The 14th Annual InterPore Meeting will offer physical, as well as virtual, lectures and attendees. 1–3 June 2022 the 11th International Conference on Energy Efficiency in Domestic Appliances and Lighting and the 17th International Symposium on Science and Technology of Lighting (EEDAL-LS21)

The previous ten International Conference on Energy Efficiency in Domestic Appliances and Lighting (EEDAL) conferences have been very successful in attracting an international audience. EEDAL has established itself as an influential and recognized international event to discuss the progress achieved and latest developments in technologies, behavioral aspects and policies. EEDAL is the venue to establish new collaborations and synergies and build international partnerships among stakeholders dealing with residential energy consumption equipment, metering, and lighting (manufacturers, consumers, governments, utilities, international organizations, academia, and research).

The International Symposium on Science and Technology of Lighting (LS-series) has been held regularly since 1975 and provides a unique forum for the worldwide community of engineers and scientists from the lighting industry, research organizations, and academia to share and exchange the latest progress on Science and Technology of Lighting. LS has a more than a 40-year history since the 1st LS (LS:1) in 1975 in Loughborough, United Kingdom, and 2021 will be the 17th time that this event will recombine.

In 2022, from 1–3 June, for the first time, the two conferences will be held jointly in Toulouse, France, on the campus of Toulouse 3 University. The aim is to bring the two communities in contact: the LS community, which has been active in lighting systems, expanding to smart and human-centric lighting, and the EEDAL community, which, among others, has focussed on energy efficiency for domestic appliances, including lighting. This joint event will provide a unique forum to discuss and debate the latest developments in energy; the environmental impact of residential appliances; lighting, heating, and cooling equipment; electronics; smart appliances; smart meters; consumer behavior, and adopted and planned policies and programs. This interaction will give birth, for sure, to new successful collaborations.
