Society logo

EUREC is the voice of renewable energy research in Europe, representing European research centers active in renewable energy.

The purpose of EUREC is to promote and support the development of innovative technologies and human resources to enable a prompt transition to a sustainable energy system.

Our members are prominent research and development (R&D) groups spread across Europe, operating in all renewable energy technologies.

EUREC’s mission is based around the following objectives:

  • To identify research needs and enable R&D for innovative and integrated renewable energy solutions
  • To promote sound policy making in renewable energy R&D
  • To enable innovation and technology transfer by connecting research and industry through project development
  • To promote the development of a highly qualified and trained workforce for the renewable energy sector
  • To support international R&D cooperation

European Biomass Industry Association (EUBIA)

Society logo

EUBIA is a non- profit association, established in Brussels (Belgium) in 1996. Its aim consists on promoting a sustainable use of biomass as a source of energy and the cooperation among stakeholders within the bioenergy field. The organisation represents the interest of its members, SMEs, research Institutes, universities and companies working in the field of biomass across Europe.

EUBIA, as well as its members, are involved on several EU funded projects, H2020, LIFE+ and BBI among others. EUBIA is committed on informing the industry on the latest legislative and technological developments of the market, as well as strengthening European policies, protecting industrial interest while preserving the environment, identifying new opportunities, promoting job creation and a sustainable development worldwide.

Iberoamerican Program of Science and Technology for Development (CYTED)

Society logo

CYTED  is the Ibero-American Programme on Science and Technology for Development, established by the governments of Ibero-American countries to promote cooperation in science, technology, and innovation for the harmonious development of Ibero-American countries.

CYTED aims to achieve its objectives through different financing instruments that mobilise Ibero-American entrepreneurs, researchers, and experts, enabling them to create joint projects on research, development, and innovation. Thus, the countries involved in the CYTED Programme manage to stay updated on the latest scientific and technological advances and developments.

Since its creation in 1984, more than 28,000 Ibero-American entrepreneurs, researchers, and experts have participated in the Programme in top areas of knowledge.

Institute of Energy and Fuel Processing Technology (ITPE)

Society logo

Institute of Energy and Fuel Processing Technology (ITPE) is the leading research and development Centre in Poland. ITPE participates in realization of research projects of priority importance to economy, which are dedicated to the efficient use of fossil, renewable and alternative fuels.

The Institute's area of competence is focused on:

  • thermochemical conversion of solid fuels for energy and chemical industry
  • environmentally friendly and economically effective residential and municipal heating systems based on natural and processed solid fuels
  • circular economy – waste to energy or residues to products
  • thermochemical energy storage by means of solid-gas reactions
  • effective and environmentally safe coke making and coal derivatives processing industries
  • advanced materials for novel energy generation technologies and e-mobility (including H2 transport)

All the activities are carried out with the emphasis to environmental protection issues, especially to the reduction of emission of greenhouse gases as well as gaseous and particulate contaminants.

International Society for Porous Media (InterPore)

Society logo

The International Society for Porous Media (InterPore) is a non-profit-making independent scientific organization that was established in 2008. It aims to advance and disseminate knowledge for the understanding, description, and modeling of natural and industrial porous media systems. For information at a glance, please download the InterPore brochure from 2021.

Porous media are encountered in many natural and industrial systems, such as soils, aquifers, oil and gas reservoirs, biological tissues and plants, as well as in fuel cells, concrete, textiles, polymer composites, and in tissue drug delivery, to name but a few.

InterPore’s mission is to act as an international platform for researchers who are actively involved in studying, developing and/or manufacturing complex porous media. InterPore provides a venue and a forum where investigators and technicians from disparate fields, working with porous media, can be brought together to display their commonality of problems, investigatory techniques and solution strategies.

Polish Society of Applied Electromagnetics (PTZE)

Society logo

The Polish Society of Applied Electromagnetics (PTZE) was established in 1990 as a forum for the exchange of thoughts, ideas, and experiences among people interested in and dealing with various applications of electromagnetism. The number of members of the Society is ca. 300 as of the end of 2019. The aims of the Society are listed below:

  • Promotion of collaboration among scientists representing various subjects of engineering and science that use electromagnetic fields;
  • Exchange of scientific information;
  • Support for young researchers by organizing scholarships, scientific visits, and professional courses;
  • Organizing scientific conferences, both domestic and international;
  • Collaborating with domestic and international societies.

The Polish Society of Applied Electromagnetics realizes the aims shown above which can be seen, among others, in the number of conferences organized since 1991 continuously. What is more, the Society has also organized some Joint Seminars with Japanese researchers, and Joint Seminars with colleagues from Slovenia and Macedonia. Since 1990, the Society has organized a couple of scientific projects solving academic and engineering problems for the industry and society, which have also helped young colleagues to attain their scientific degrees.

The Polish Society of Applied Electromagnetism covers a wide area of electromagnetic applications, from very conventional electrical engineering through agricultural engineering to medicine. Recently, the interest of the members has been focused on the links between medicine and electromagnetism.
