Synthesis of Bioactive Macrolactones by Microbes

Dear Colleagues,

Secondary metabolites such as macrolactones have been of significant interest to both researchers and professionals in the fields of biochemistry, genetics and applied biotechnology because of their remarkable biological activities and chemical architectures and are outstanding sources of novel bioactive substances.
This Special Issue of Fermentation aims to substantially expand our knowledge of biosynthesis of an important and potentially useful bioactive macrolactones by microbes (bacteria, fungi, marine sponges, and other organisms). Accordingly, this Special Issue, welcomes experts working in the field to submit original experimental studies, reviews, and surveys that cover state-of-the-art advances in this important area.

Authors can submit their manuscripts online at www.mdpi.com. Accepted papers will be published regularly in the journal as soon as accepted and will be listed together on the Special Issue’s website.

For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Fermentation is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
