Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue will comprise selected papers from the proceedings of the 1st International Electronic Conference on Molecular Sciences: Druggable Targets of Emerging Infectious Diseases (ECMS 2021) 1–14 September, 2021, held on sciforum.net, an online platform for hosting scholarly e-conferences and discussion groups.

The focus of this conference is druggable targets of emerging infectious diseases, and it is divided into four sessions, each with an invited keynote speaker and chair and short proffered talks on the following:

  • Emerging and re-emerging infection diseases in human and veterinary medicine
    (biological, pathological and clinical aspects);
  • Pathogens for humans and multidrug resistance: the great challenge
    (pharmacological targets; virtual screening; drug design);
  • Natural products and synthetic derivatives in anti-infective drug design
    (natural products as leads; new technologies using NP; deconvolution; HTS screenings of mixtures, etc.);
  • Nanoparticles, new materials and sustainable chemistry in drugs
    (advances in drug delivery, nanoparticles and other nanomaterials in biological/pharmaceutical technologies)

There will also be posters on the above topics.

Selected papers that attract the most interest on the web or that provide a particularly innovative contribution will be selected for publication. These papers will be subjected to peer review and published with the aim of rapid and wide dissemination of research results, developments, and applications. We hope this Conference Series will continue to grow in acceptance and recognition among potential participants, contributors, experts who want to disseminate their latest findings, and readers who seek information on Druggable Targets of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Molecular Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. There is an Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal. For details about the APC please see here. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
