The use of several oils such as argan and olive oils for human health has attracted a great deal of interest. Argan oil has been used in traditional medicine, mainly in Morocco, as a natural remedy for several centuries. Olive oil is a major component of the mediterranean diet, and its benefits on the prevention on numerous diseases is well admitted. The rich composition of these oils in tocopherols, phytosterols, and unsaturated fatty acid makes them very interesting oils with respect to their actions on the risk factors of numerous diseases, mainly cardiovascular diseases, associated with hyperlipidemia, hypercholesterolemia, and hypertension. Argan oil is also traditionally used for the treatment of skin infections and in cosmetics. Beside these two important oils associated with the mediterranean diet, some other oils deriving from different plants are of interest to prevent or treat major human diseases. The objective of this Special Issue is to present different types of papers (research papers and reviews) gathering different topics, in order to provide a wide overview on the beneficial effects of plant oils on human health. The different topics include: oil production, oil composition, cosmetic, aged related diseases (cancer, metabolic diseases, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, eye diseases, etc.), and nutrition. The cytoprotective effects of the major oil compounds on oxidation, inflammation, and cell death will be also considered.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Molecular Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. There is an Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal. For details about the APC please see here. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English.
