Special Issue "Research on the Application of Isotope Effect in Enzymatic Reaction"
Deadline for manuscript submissions: 30 September 2021.
Interests: isotope effects; mechanisms of chemical and enzymatic reactions; enzyme inhibition; isotopic fractionation; isotope-ratio mass spectrometry; computational chemistry; docking
Isotope-effect studies, while being a relatively young technique for learning the mechanisms of chemical and biochemical processes, have matured in the last couple of decades and become a rather routine kinetic tool, albeit one that is demanding in terms of precision. Recent years have seen reports on novel chemical, biochemical, medical, and environmental applications, and the interpretation of smaller and smaller isotope effects. It seems that it is the right time to summarize these recent achievements. With this goal in mind, I would like to invite you to contribute to the collection “Research on the Application of Isotope Effect in Enzymatic Reactions”. This Special Issue will be devoted to original research work and review articles on the application of isotope effects in studies of enzyme-catalyzed reactions, their chemical counterparts, and related processes. Experimental and/or theoretical studies that address current challenges in the field, as well as advances in state-of-the-art methodology for measurements/calculations, are of prime interest. I hope that this issue will provide the scientific community with up-to-date findings on this most subtle tool used to understand reactivity at the molecular level, and enzymatic catalysis in particular.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Molecular Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. There is an Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal. For details about the APC please see here. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
