Nuclear Instrumentation

Dear Colleague,

This Special Issue on Nuclear Instrumentation focuses on new instrumentation developments for any kind of nuclear physics experiments. It includes all types of instrumentation for the detection and spectrometry of radiations from low-to-high energy processes and nuclear decays, accelerators and fragment separators, nuclear spectrometers or ion beam analysis techniques, covering major areas related to concepts and instrumentation in detector physics, accelerator science, and associated experimental methods and techniques, theory, modeling, and simulations.

Those new instrumentations with medical applications and medical imaging will be considered of high interest.

The Special Issue will also cover the design and operation of equipment related with nuclear plant energy production and safety, as well as related technologies. It will provide a forum to discuss and present recent research results in radiation detection technology, with a particular focus on design and deployment of radiation sensing and dosimetry instruments, particularly for nuclear decommissioning and security applications.

Specialized electronics for nuclear experiments and other types of spectrometry, as well as computerization of measurements and control systems in this field are also welcome in the Special Issue.

Finally, articles concerning simulation works on nuclear radiation production and detection, among other relevant mentioned topics in all disciplines related to nuclear technology and instrumentation addressed by means of simulation, can be considered.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Journal of Nuclear Engineering is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
