XIII International Fungal Biology Conference (IFBC) and IV International Symposium on Fungal Stress (ISFUS)

We are happy to announce the XIII International Fungal Biology Conference (IFBC) and IV International Symposium on Fungal Stress (ISFUS) that will take place in São José dos Campos, SP, Brazil, from 25 to 29 September 2022.

This meeting will feature talks from scientists from several countries who work on all topics at the frontier of research into fungi, including ecology and the environment, health, sustainability, agriculture, industry, technology, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, and industrial processes. This event will be a unique opportunity to conversate with the most renowned scientists in these fields.

We are confident that a joint ISFUS–IFBC meeting will bring together complementary and exciting frontier fields of fungal biology that should be attractive to many young researchers and students in this field from all over the world.

IV ISFUS Main Topics

  • Stress mechanisms and responses in fungi.
  • Fungal photobiology, clock regulation, and stress.
  • Fungal stress in industry.
  • Fungal biology in extreme environments.
  • Ionizing radiation, ultraviolet radiation, heat, and other stresses in fungal biology.
  • Fungal stress in agriculture, including the biological control of insect pests.
  • Stress in fungal pathogenesis.
  • Stress in populations, fungal communities, and symbiotic interactions.

XIII IFBC Main Topics

  • Morphogenes: Includes polar growth, regulation of branching, and asexual as well as sexual reproduction and germination in both yeast and filamentous fungi.
  • Organellar dynamics: Includes secretion, vesicle trafficking, nuclear dynamics, vacuolar morphogenesis, mitochondrial interactions, and cellular heterogeneity.
  • Cytoskeletal function and dynamics: Includes aspects of cytoskeleton and growth, cell wall synthesis and septation mechanisms, nuclear division, trafficking, etc.
  • Cell biology of interactions and communication: Includes fungal–fungal, fungal–bacterial, fungal–plant, and fungal–animal interactions focused on cell biological aspects.
