Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

It is a great honor to introduce this Special Issue, “Biomineralization of Dental Tissue”. Researchers are welcome to submit their work. We will be happy to share your studies and to publish your research.

Bone (or hard tissue) metabolism occurs in the enamel, dentin, cementum, and alveolar bones. Enamel is formed by the interaction of various factors related to biomineralization. Various proteins are involved in the process of enamel formation, such as enamelin and amelogenin. Unlike enamel, dentin and cementum are both similar to bone and can be seen as a special hard tissue. Their formation involves tissue-specific gene expression such as that of DSPP. Although much research has been conducted on tooth-related hard tissue metabolism, there remains much to determine in the future.

Therefore, in this Special Issue, we are interested in the general field of tooth-related hard tissue metabolism. We also welcome studies related to the bone metabolism of osteoclasts and osteoblasts. Any type of article, such as original articles, reviews, and case reports, is warmly welcome.
