Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

As the energy crisis and environmental pollution are becoming more severe, we expect to obtain more sustainable and green materials that are environmentally friendlier and can easily be applied for environmental remediation, energy storage and conversion purposes. The demand of devices dealing with environmental remediation, energy storage and conversion is increasing rapidly because of the variety of industrial processes and high energy consumption rate in smart electrical appliances. The existing advanced techniques used in environmental remediation, energy storage and conversion devices, such as electrochemical supercapacitors, lithium ion batteries (LIBs) and solar energy storage devices, are sustainable alternatives to large energy requirements globally. However, environmental issues and commercial applications in general have been influencing the developments of these techniques. The nanohybrid composites are promising materials for the purpose.

The aim of this Special Issue will emphasize the fundamental design concepts and emerging applications of nanohybrid composites to green the 21st century, such as the degradation of environmental pollutants, sensing and biosensing of the analytes of emerging concern, energy conversion devices, electrocatalytic applications, as well as energy storage and electrochemical devices (lithium ion batteries (LIBs), super capacitors, solar cells, fuel cells, etc.). Spanning across all aspects encompassing the fields of nanohybrid composites is of supreme interest. Emphasis will be placed on the novel application of nanohybrid composites in the environmental, energy, electrocatalysis, sensing and biosensing area and related aspects. The articles should be designed spanning across important aspects, encompassing the thematic aspects of this Special Issue. Both types of articles, research studies, and reviews are welcome in this issue.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
