Synthetic and systems biology has rapidly advanced to develop and apply experimental and computational tools for developing synthetic genetic circuits, controlling regulation pathways, understanding biological systems, and producing novel molecules. The Synthetic and Systems Biology Section is interested in publishing scientific and engineering methods and standardized protocols in, but not limited to:

  • Genetic circuit design and validation;
  • Signaling molecules and synthetic switch;
  • Rationale design and directed evolution;
  • DNA assembly and editing;
  • Programmable organisms and optimization;
  • Cell-free synthetic biology and artificial systems;
  • Novel pathway construction and flux analysis;
  • Synthetic metabolism and metabolic engineering;
  • Computational tools for genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics;
  • Biosensor design;
  • Applications of synthetic and systems biology.
