Special Issue "The Effects of Electrolyte Supplementation on Human Performance and Health"
Deadline for manuscript submissions: 27 May 2022.
Interests: exercise physiology; exercise performance; skeletal muscle metabolism; cardiorespiratory fitness; skeletal muscle physiology
The goal of this Special Issue, “Effects of Electrolyte Supplementation on Human Performance and Health”, is to focus on the importance of electrolyte supplementation during endurance or ultra-endurance exercise.
Specifically, the aim is to understand if electrolyte supplementation is a benefit to completion of long-duration exercise in various types of environments (e.g., hot, cold, humid, and/or neutral).
This information will provide exercise physiologists and/or exercise specialists with a better understanding of supplementation regimens, which will benefit the overall health and performance of recreational and/or professional athletes during long duration exercise.
We are now calling for original articles and reviews on the effects of electrolyte supplementation on long-duration exercise for this Special Issue. Both positive and negative results of electrolyte supplementation are welcome.
