Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The Summer School in Colombia (8SSiC) is a scientific event organized each year since 2011, and this year it will be held online. The main objective of the eighth edition of this conference is to present the latest advances in the role of conventional and unconventional resources in energy transition. The 8SSiC has been a significant event in Colombia for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as for professionals, providing a forum to share their advances regarding petroleum science and engineering. The 8SSiC will be held from May 31st to June 4th, 2021, including but not limited to the following subjects:

  • Unconventional hydrocarbons.
  • Energy transition.
  • Nanotechnology
  • EOR and IOR applications.
  • Drilling and completion.
  • Offshore.
  • Optimization of transport of heavy and extra-heavy crude oils.
  • Health, safety, security, environment and social responsibility.

The Editors of Processes are pleased to launch a Special Issue for this event titled “The role of conventional and unconventional resources in energy transition: 8th Summer School in Colombia (8SSiC)”.

The main objective of this Special Issue is to provide novel, original, and high-quality articles as powerful tools for the readers of this journal, the scientific community, as well as members of the oil and gas industry. Original research and review articles are welcome to this Issue.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Processes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2000 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
