Young Investigator Award

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the winners of the Sensors 2021 Young Investigator Award are Reader Qammer H. Abbasi and Professor Chi Hwan Lee.

Qammer H. Abbasi is an academic with more than 9 years of research and teaching experience in prestigious institutes, including Queen Mary University of London, the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Texas A & M University and the University of Glasgow. His research interests include antennas, bio-electromagnetics, nano communication, terahertz sensing, the Internet of Things, biomedical applications of millimeter and terahertz communication, etc. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Electrical engineering from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), U.K., in 2012 and has an outstanding publication record, comprising more than 350 leading international technical journals and peer-reviewed conference papers and 10 books, and has received widespread recognition for his research.

Chi Hwan Lee is Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, and by courtesy, of Materials Engineering and Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Purdue University. His research interests focus on flexible and stretchable sensors for human body-integrated healthcare systems. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University in 2013. Prof. Lee has won numerous awards, published over 60 high-impact journal articles and holds over 20 patents.

Please join us in congratulating Prof. Abbasi and Prof. Lee for their outstanding achievements.

As the awardees, they will receive an honorarium of 2000 CHF, an offer to publish a paper free of charge before 30 June 2022 in Sensors after peer-review, and an engraved plaque.
