Special Issue Information

The Internet of Things (IoT) is creating a new era of intelligent computing and autonomous applications. However, the IoT edge devices have little or no computing resources, and they rely on remote cloud servers for data offloading and decision analytics. The dependency on a remote server is a serious concern in time-critical real time IoT applications such as in unmanned vehicle control systems where a small decision delay may result in catastrophe.

The fog network analytic can offload the data processing and decision analytics to local fog devices from remote cloud servers. The fog analytic can improve the real-time responsiveness of the IoT applications but at a greatly increased computational burden on the fog network.

In the era of explosive use of real-time IoT applications, an intelligent and efficient fog analytic system is required to enable real-time mission critical IoT applications.

This special issue aims to bring together researchers from both academia and industry in the application of novel methods for IoT fog analytics for real-time or mission-critical systems.

Manuscript Submission Information

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
