26–29 September 2021, Thessaloniki, Greece
5th EuChemS Conference on Green and Sustainable Chemistry

Dear Colleagues,

We have the pleasure to invite you to the 5th EuChemS Conference on Green and Sustainable Chemistry (5th EuGSC), that will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, on 26th – 29th September 2021.

After careful consideration of the current COVID-19 situation and the hopeful messages for the coming summer/autumn, the Organizing Committee is opening  the abstracts submission and the decision on whether the conference will be held on-line or by physical presence will be taken in due time, keeping as first priority the safety and health of the participants.

The 5th EuGSC is organized by the Association of Greek Chemists (AGC) and EuChemS /Division of Green and Sustainable Chemistry, and is endorsed by the Hellenic Green Chemistry Network and the Department of Chemistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. This is the fifth of a series of EuCheMS successful conferences on Green and Sustainable Chemistry that started eight years ago in Budapest (2013), followed by the conferences in Lisbon (2015), York (2017) and Tarragona (2019). The EuGSC conferences offer the opportunity to discuss the latest developments in green & sustainable chemistry, to expand existing and establish new relations among academia and industry, and to disseminate the philosophy and principles of sustainable development and circular (bio)economy.

The topics of the 5th EuGSC will cover the broader field of green chemistry and technology with more emphasis on sustainable catalytic and synthetic processes, biomass and CO2 utilization, alternative fuels and green energy, benign low-energy chemical processes, pollution prevention and remediation, green chemistry metrics and environmental assessment, sustainable industrial processes, waste recycle and valorization, and circular (bio)economy.

The conference program will comprise of Plenary, Keynote, Oral and Poster presentations. Publication opportunities will be offered via Special Issues in high impact journals in the field of Green and Sustainable Chemistry.

We look forward to welcoming you at the 5th EuGSC in Thessaloniki, virtually or physically, and have a fruitful and enjoyable conference!
