2022 International Joint Conference on Energy and Environmental Engineering (CoEEE)

It is our great pleasure to warmly invite you to the 2022 International Joint Conference on Energy and Environmental Engineering (CoEEE), which will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, on June 24–26, 2022. The conference serves as a dedicated platform providing researchers, scientists, engineers, and scholars with the opportunity to exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, and results in the common research field of Energy and Environmental Engineering and, moreover, to discuss practical issues and challenges that have been encountered as well as the adopted solutions.

Energy security, environmental degradation, soil and water loss, and climate change are the current and future grand challenges facing the world. Energy and environmental engineering contribute immensely to these grand challenges and are important for the global economy and ecological sustainability. While the public has established a local-realism-based vision that new energies (solar and wind power, biofuel, carbon capture and storage, etc.) and environmental engineering technologies (ecological restoration, wetlands, water and soil reservation, wastewater and sludge treatment, desalination, etc.) are beneficial for resource conservation and climate change mitigation, the far-reaching ecological impact of these engineering projects on the environment is little explored. The ecosystem is an entity of complex network connections, where one slight change can affect the whole, but details of these complex interconnections remain mostly unknown to humans. For instance, it has been increasingly realized that all forms of renewable energy production are reliant on machines built with nonrenewable minerals, which means that based on the current technologies, no form of renewable energy can strictly be considered 100% “renewable”. Hence, the interlinkage of different ecological elements calls for a systems vision.

We recognize that the future for energy and environmental scientists is one where they will be working in interdisciplinary teams, particularly in partnership with social scientists, to solve new, complex and evolving problems that will require innovative solutions. Therefore, we strongly encourage the participation of interdisciplinary disciplines (such as social hydrology, energy and environmental policy, ecological economics, systems embodiment analysis, etc.) in this conference, where multidisciplinary research will be presented.

CoEEE 2022 will be held in the beautiful city of Stockholm, in summer, which is a wonderful season in Northern Europe. The conference will begin with registration and material collection on June 24, 2022, followed by two days of technical sessions consisting of plenary lectures and keynote speeches to the overall audience and oral and poster presentations by participants in various sessions in addition to social networking events.

We truly believe that CoEEE 2022 will provide an optimal platform for all participants to have spirited discussions and exchange insights on the broad field of energy and environmental engineering. Finally, we do wish all of you will have a memorable experience at the conference and seize this opportunity to promote future international collaborations.
