Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues

The demand for problem solving has been increasing exponentially. New technologies in artificial intelligence, data analytics, big data, and innovative optimization have reduced the dimensions of data coverage worldwide. Thus, recent inventions in data science have incrementally reduced the gaps in coverage of domains globally. Specialized software solutions have been developed to handle data quantity and diversity, as well as sophisticated models. This has, in turn, given rise to articulated software architectures that need to combine diverse components which interact successfully. The excavation for information in large data in addition to soft-computing techniques have contributed to strengthening prediction, analysis, and decision potentials in the niche areas of smart cities, renewable energy, agroengineering, operational research, computational intelligence, data technology, engineering management, social computing, green computing, big data analysis, IoT, cloud computing, block chain, cryptocurrency, and cybersecurity. Nurturing of research into data technology and smart computing will assist in finding the right patterns within the vast ocean of data. This Special Issue will cover a broad range of topics, including the emerging fields of neurocomputational models and simulations under uncertainty, such as fuzzy-based computational models and fuzzy trace theory as well as stochastic neural computation and neural/brain modeling with stochastic differential equations and stochastic regime models. We especially encourage the submission of extended papers from the 3rd International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Optimization (ICO’2020).

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Software Testing and Information Security,
  • Data Analytics,

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
