Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Green information technology (GIT) initiatives constitute an integral part of our global efforts to achieve the main goal of the Paris agreement—to limit the warming of the planet to less than 2 °C above the pre-industrial (1850–1900) level. The aim of this Special Issue is to provide new insights on the conceptual foundations of GIT, factors necessary for successful initiation and adoption of these technologies in the corporate sector, critical success factors, and possible financial benefits connected with the practical implementation of GIT. The Special Issue is open to methodological and conceptual papers, empirical studies, case study analyses, and systematic literature reviews. The illustrative set of topics includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Conceptual foundations of GITs and new approaches to their quantitative measurement;
  • Critical success factors and key challenges of GIT implementation in the corporate sector;
  • Corporate governance solutions facilitating GIT adoption strategies;
  • Ways in which GIT can be leveraged in support of environmental sustainability within operating activities;
  • Connections between GIT implementation and the financial performance of companies;
  • Other tangible economic benefits connected with the practical implementation of GIT.
