Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The development of the tourism sector is important and clear, as international tourist arrivals grew by 5% in 2018 to reach a 1.4 billion market, and export earnings generated by tourism have grown to USD 1.7 trillion (UNWTO, 2019). As the tourism and hospitality industry grows, however, it also influences the environment and urban development, thus bringing with it a larger responsibility to ensure effective destination management that minimizes any adverse effects of tourism. Managing tourism and hospitality in a green and sustainable manner for the benefit of all is therefore more critical than ever. This Special Issue addresses key issues in the exploration of green and sustainability development in tourism and hospitality research, covering a wide range of topics, including:

- Eco-friendly tourism;

- Energy use and emissions toward tourism and hospitality development;

- Green tourism and hospitality;

- Heritage, conservation, cultural heritage, and sustainable development;

- Marketing for sustainable tourism;

- New trends in marketing strategy in tourism and hospitality;

- Sustainable development in tourism and hospitality;

- Sustainable urban and rural tourism;

- Tourism growth and urbanization.
