Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The authors of this paper sequenced the full mitochondrial genome of a nocturnal wasps as well as performed phylogenetic analysis of obtained the position of nocturnal wasp of the Vespidae family.

I have some comments to improve the paper.

I suggest including in the title Phylogenetic analysis.

Line 33-34. This sentence seems to need additional text.

Line 37. Difference – visible difference.

Line 39-40. Can the authors hypothesize the main reasons for the transition from a solitary to a social life?

Line 46. ribosome DNA – replace with nuclear 28S ribosomal DNA.

Line 63. 2.1. Taking Samples and DNA Isolation – Sampling and DNA Isolation.

Line 67. Rstored - rеstored.

Line 69. Please, mention the manufacturer.

Line 73. Cat. no., city, country?

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This is an interesting article reporting on the characterization of complete mitochondrial genome of a nocturnal wasps - Provespa barthelemyi (Hymenoptera: Vespidae). The Authors used Maximum Likelihood (ML) methodologies to construct a phylogenetic tree based on the sequenced mitochondrial genome and the available data of reported species belonging to Vespinae, confirming the monophyly of Vespinae. They also reported the first complete mitochondrial genome of Provespa and compared its characteristics with other mitochondrial genomes in the family Vespidae. The results obtained contribute to improve the knowledge on the phylogenetic relationships and ecological characters of the Vespidae family.

Introduction is adequate.

M&M is clear and detailed.

Results and Discussion are appropriate and supported by tables and figures.

Conclusions is in line with Results and Discussion.

Refrences are appropriate.

Supplementary Materials: they are mentioned in the specific section but not cited in the text. In my opinion, their citation should be added.

Investigate the characterization of complete mitochondrial genome of a nocturnal wasps - Provespa barthelemyi (Hymenoptera: Vespidae).
The results obtained contribute to improve the knowledge on the phylogenetic relationships and ecological characters of the Vespidae family.
The first complete mitochondrial genome of Provespa is provided.
This is the first study providing the complete mitochondrial genome of Provespa.
The methodology is already appropriate.
As already said the conclusions are in accordance with the results and discussion of the article.
Tables and figures included in the article are clear and do not require further information.

Minor changes are indicated in the manuscript.
