Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript is well-written, methodogically sound and value adding.

As mentioned in the text, this study interprets work-family culture in three sub-dimensions, hypothesizing the direct effect (managerial support, organizational time demands and career consequences) on employees’ job performance.

The authors provide certain references on work-family balance relationships with job satisfaction (Nair and Subash [7]; Gragnano, Simbula, and Miglioretti [8]; Andreassi and Thompson [9]), and composed a construct that reflects  work-family culture balance consisting of three components: organizational time demands, managerial support, and career support. This construct's impact on job (or employee) performance is measured.

Employee and job performance are used interchangeably. Better keep a single term for consistency.
There are a few minor spelling errors. Please find attached the manuscript with the spelling errors highlighted .

However, I see no relevance to industry 4.0 or the service sector, that are the main topics of the special issue.

Reviewer 2 Report

  • For “The collected data were analyzed using two statistical analyses, i.e. descriptive and inferential”, insert “,” after “e.”;
  • I suggest the authors insert one space after “SDG” for “Malaysia on 2030 is aiming for Sustainable Developments Goals (SDG2030)”;
  • When reviewing the related work, the sentence, “Gragnano, Simbula, and Miglioretti [8] reported that job”, is improper. You can find the similar sentence in the following website that can help you how to review your work.

https://0-www-sciencedirect-com.brum.beds.ac.uk/science/article/pii/S0020025521013438

https://0-link-springer-com.brum.beds.ac.uk/article/10.1007/s11831-021-09562-1

  • Maybe you should add the structure of the paper as a separate paragraph at the end of Introduction.
  • For “focus on work-family culture, which has three (3) sub-dimensions: managerial support”, the “(3)” should be deleted;
  • The “twenty-four (24) hours daily, and some even spend more time at their workplaces to make” has the same problem with before;
  • The “pieces of evidence proved that reducing working hours by one (1) hour per week impacts” has the same problem with before;
  • The “study focuses on four (4) industries with the highest number of employees” has the same problem with before;
  • The “The survey sets were divided into three (3) parts: Part A, Part B, and Part C.” has the same problem with before;
  • The “The result shows three (3) components rotated by factor analysis” has the same problem with before;
  • The usage of “propped” in “propped that managerial support can moderate the issue both in work and family culture” is wrong;
  • The citations in “leads to stress and disturbs the psychological well-being, which eventually will affect work performance [26]–[31]” are improper; citing so many papers once is not professional.
  • The sentence, “search framework, as seen in Figure 1 below”, is wrong;
  • The mathematical symbols used in “wards job performances (t=10.299, p<0.05)” are wrong;
  • The “significant result (beta=0.046) between managerial supports and job performances” has the same problem with before;
  • Except the methods used in the paper, some of the most representative computational intelligence algorithms can be used to solve the problems, like monarch butterfly optimization (MBO), earthworm optimization algorithm (EWA), elephant herding optimization (EHO), moth search (MS) algorithm, Slime mould algorithm (SMA), hunger games search (HGS), Runge Kutta optimizer (RUN), colony predation algorithm (CPA), and Harris hawks optimization (HHO). These must be clearly pointed out in Section Conclusion.
  • The journal name in Ref. [6], “”, is wrong. Remove the similar problems in the paper.
  • The journal name in Ref. [7], “ J. Bus. Manag. Invent. ISSN”, is wrong. Remove the similar problems in the paper.

Reviewer 3 Report

It is recommended to expand the statistical justification of the survey carried out, as well as to accompany the results of the analyzes of the tables presented with graphics.
Likewise, compare the results with the general balance of Malaysia and its contribution to the impact of the global goals.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

The revised paper is resubmitted to “ Sustainability ”. This version is significantly better than before. Few comments have been considered, however, so many serious problems exist in this revised version.

  • For “job performance in achieving SDGs in section 1”, change “section” to “Section”; Remove the similar problems in the paper;
  • The authors should double-check the references in “(e.g., Campos-Garcia, Guevara & Idrovo-Carlier, [26], Kalliath, Kalliath, Chan & Chan [27], Krishnan, Loon, & Tan [28], Thevanes & Mangaleswaran [29], AlAzzam, AbuAlRub & Nazzal [30], Jabeen, Friesen & Ghoudi [31])”;
  • The figure “Figure 1. Research Framework” looks so vague. It must be redrawn and further refined;
  • The paper lacks the running environment, including software and hardware. Please supplement them. It is convenient for other researchers to redo your experiments and this makes your work easy acceptance.
  • The authors mentioned some of the most representative metaheuristic algorithms, like monarch butterfly optimization (MBO), earthworm optimization algorithm (EWA), elephant herding optimization (EHO), moth search (MS) algorithm, as future research work. However, their citations must be added.
  • The journal name in Ref. [6], “”, is wrong. Remove the similar problems in the paper.
