The paper is well written and generally recommended to be published in Sustainability. However, firstly, one major comment need to be addressed: though the complex theoretical model has been introduced, no description on how these equations are solved provided. It is assumed that these equations are solved numerically using some discretization technique,but the paper presents no indication of any method used. 

It is suggested to update the manuscript with a section on how the solution of system (3)-(7) is performed. 

Therefore, I recommend a major revision.
