We are very pleased to announce the launch of the new open-access journal,
Commodities (ISSN: 2813-2432) [
1].
Commodities is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that encourages and supports the publication of research papers in all fields of economics, finance, and commerce related to commodities. The research emphasizes empirical and analytical work, as well as theoretical or policy-related work.
The journal aims to provide a platform for researchers all over the world to promote, share and disseminate their research innovations related to commodities. Some possible topics include, but are not limited to, commodity futures markets; commodity trading; commodities supply chains; pricing, hedging, and risk analysis of commodity derivatives; econometric/statistical analysis of commodities; commodities and food security; commodity policies. Commodity markets include soft commodity markets, such as agricultural products, and hard commodity markets, such as gold, rubber, natural gas, and oil. More recently developed commodities markets include those of emissions and electricity.
It is a great honor and pleasure for me to be involved as the founding Editor-in-Chief of this new journal. I strongly encourage all those in the field of economics and finance related to commodities markets to submit their high-quality articles to our journal.

Short Biography of Author
Prof. Dr. Jungho Baek is a professor of economics in the College of Business and Security Management (CBSM) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He was the director of the economics program at CBSM for 8 years and is currently an advisory board member for the Institute of Northern Engineering’s Center for Environmentally Sustainable Transportation in Cold Climates (CESTiCC). He was a visiting professor/researcher at Seoul National University (South Korea), the Sejong Institute (South Korea), and the University of Jinan (China). His principal research fields include international trade, resource economics, the economics of environment and trade, energy economics, and econometric modeling. His work in these areas has been published in over 100 international refereed journals. He currently serves on the editorial board member of Sustainability and is an associate editor of Forest Science.
