Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

With this big evolution in technology and the huge amount of data transferred and traveling around the global Internet, a demand beyond automation has appeared in this world. The new demands focused on the ability of machines to be more smart and dependable in making decisions without human interference. Controlling many venues (health, education, power, etc. ) in our life based on the data generated and collected from several sources and machine algorithms have become an essential part of this digital world. Based on all of that, the Internet of Things (IoT) has appeared as a new branch of science to merge several technologies such as automation, machine learning, networking, big data analysis networking, and cloud computing to facilitate machine-making decisions without human interference.

The aim of this Special Issue is to attract qualified contributions in the area of IoT when it is applied to smart cities. This contribution includes, but is not limited to:

  • Internet of Medical Things (IoMT).
  • IoT in smart home and smart city applications.
  • IoT for modern vehicle technology, autonomous systems, and self-driving.
  • Machine learning techniques and deep learning solutions for IoT technologies.
  • Internet of Things for engineering for real word applications.
  • IoT in cryptography and blockchain technology.
  • IoT for aviation and delivery drone systems.
  • IoT in power-saving technologies.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Big Data and Cognitive Computing is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
