Travel Award

Dear colleagues,

As Editor-in-Chief of Actuators, I am pleased to announce the winner of the 2020-2021 Travel Award sponsored by Actuators.

The Evaluation Committee was very impressed with the high quality work presented for consideration. After careful evaluation, the Travel Award has been granted to Mr. Matthew Wei Ming Tan, a Ph.D. student at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Mr. Tan’s research work focuses on the design and fabrication of new smart materials for soft actuators, which can be exploited through a wide range of real-world applications.

Mr. Tan will receive 800 Swiss Francs, which he can put forth to attend and/or participate in academic conferences in 2021.

We would like to thank the Evaluation Committee for their comprehensive evaluation of the candidates.

Sincerely,
Prof. Dr. Kenji Uchino
