Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Olive growing is one of the most emblematic crops of the Mediterranean, playing an essential role not only from an agricultural and productive point of view, but considering also its contribution to the landscape and cultural heritage. In addition, the rising interest toward olive growing products all over the world for their recognized beneficial properties is leading to the continuous intensification of this crop even in those countries where it was not habitually cultivated until some years ago. Taking into account the concerns about environmental threats, especially those attributed to anthropic activities such as agriculture and agroindustry, including olive and olive oil production, processing and marketing, it becomes crucial to implement the solutions that enable us to satisfy consumer and market requirements and preserve the ecosystem at the same time. The implementation of good and sustainable practices through the introduction, improvement, and employment of suitable approaches, techniques, and technologies to guarantee the above-mentioned objectives represents the challenge to which all stakeholders should respond. In this sense, the Special Issue of AgriEngineering entitled: "Technologies and Techniques to Enhance Sustainable Management of Olive Productions" intends to offer a space for scientific community members to share their research findings and their valuable expertise related to olive growing, with a particular interest towards new and innovative techniques and technologies that enable obtaining high-quality and sustainable olive productions along the entire supply chain. Colleagues dealing with these issues are strongly invited to contribute with their papers, thus enabling the enrichment of the existing knowledge.

Manuscript Submission Information

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. AgriEngineering is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
