10th Anniversary of Buildings

The year 2021 marks the 10th anniversary of Buildings, a peer-reviewed open-access journal on building science, building engineering, and architecture. Buildings has published more than 1000 papers from more than 1000 authors. More than 2000 reviewers have submitted at least one review report. We value the contributions made by authors and reviewers. To celebrate this 10th anniversary, we are arranging a series of special content and events. We hope you can join us in celebrating this milestone for our journal and enjoy the collection below.

The inaugural Issue is released and Buildings is published as a quarterly journal.



Founding Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Dr. Chimay J. Anumba

Prof. Dr. Chimay J. Anumba graduated at 18 with a First Class Honours degree in Building and worked as a project engineer and design engineer before studying for his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (specializing in computer-aided design) at the University of Leeds, UK. He was Professor and Head, Department of Architectural Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University from 2008 to July 2016.

Dr. Anumba joined the University of Florida on August 1, 2016 as Dean of the College of Design, Construction, and Planning.



Buildings is indexed in Scopus (Elsevier).



Buildings is indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) of Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics).



Prof. Dr. David Arditi is appointed as Editor-in-Chief for Buildings

Prof. Dr. David Arditi received a PhD degree from Civil Engineering (Construction Management); Loughborough University, UK, in 1973. He has been Professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL, from 1992 to the present.



Buildings starts the first Travel Awards and Best Paper Awards.



Buildings adopts a monthly publication schedule and announces the second edition of the Travel Awards.




The CiteScore calculated in 2018 is 1.5



The CiteScore calculated is 2.26



Buildings announces the third edition of the Travel Awards.



The CiteScore calculated is 2.8, which ranks 15/126 (Q1) in "Architecture", 54/174 (Q2) in "Building and Construction", and 114/310 (Q2) in "Civil and Structural Engineering

Buildings is indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) of Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics) from Vol. 8 (2018).
Buildings publishes its 1000th paper.
 



Buildings announces the first edition of the Young Investigator Awards.



Buildings received its first Impact Factor

Buildings received its first impact factor (IF) of 2.648. Buildings now ranks 32/66 (Q2) in the category 'CONSTRUCTION & BUILDING TECHNOLOGY', and 61/136 (Q2) in the category 'ENGINEERING, CIVIL'.



The CitedScore calculated in 2021 was 4.2

Buildings 2020 Best Paper Awards



In 2021, we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of our journal Buildings. In recognition of our authors’ continued support, Buildings is pleased to announce that the “Buildings 2020 Best Paper Awards” has been launched and will be granted to the best papers published in Buildings from 1 January, 2020 to 31 December, 2020.
