Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Anesthesia is essential in cancer surgery and invasive procedures. General anesthetics are used to induce and maintain the general anesthesia for surgery. Local anesthetics can be used for local infiltration or regional block. During surgery, various medicines are administered. All of these might influence the cancer cells or modify the stress response, immune function, and tumor microenvironment of the human body. The mechanisms and clinical relevance are an active area of current research. One of the controversial subjects is whether there are differences between inhaled (volatile, inhalational) and intravenous anesthetic (propofol) in cancer surgery outcomes. Another active research is the potential beneficial effects of the usage of local anesthetics. Optimizing the perioperative anesthesia treatment may have the potential to improve a patient’s outcomes. This Special Issue aims to accommodate the increasing need for presenting high-quality original research or review articles in the field of anesthesia and cancers. Both basic and clinical research are welcome.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
