Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Brain neuromodulation aims to induce the stimulation of cortical areas or basal ganglia nuclei in the attempt to reduce chronic symptoms of complex neurological conditions, including movement disorders and chronic pain, by directly altering brain activity.

Currently, there are a number of standard invasive and noninvasive methods: some have shown great promise in treating neurological disorders, while others are already accepted in clinical practice.

This Special Issue wants to collect scientific works illustrating brain neuromodulation procedures by discussing results, advantages and disadvantages, and possible mechanisms of action.

We welcome all Colleagues who wish to describe their experience in this exciting field of functional neurosurgery.
