Ph.D. Thesis Award

Dear Colleagues,

As the Editor-in-Chief of Forests, it is my great pleasure to announce the winners of the 2021 Best PhD Thesis Award. This prize has been granted to two PhD students who have produced a highly anticipated academic thesis.

The winners are:

“Characterizing Tree Communities in Space and Time Using Point Clouds” By Tuomas Yrttimaa, School of Forest Sciences, University of Eastern Finland, Finland

“Women in Forest Sector Leadership: A Multi-country Study” By Pipiet Larasatie, Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR, USA

Each winner will receive CHF 500, a certificate and the opportunity to publish a paper with a 50% discount in Forests in 2023.
