Section Information

The purpose of the Forensic Medicine section is not only to investigate the traditional fields of scientific application of forensic medicine as an activity to support the application of criminal law, such as forensic pathology, forensic anthropology, forensic hemogenetics, forensic toxicology and forensic entomology, in their most significant and modern scientific expressions but also to propose and study the most recent fields of interest of the medico-legal disciplines. In particular, this includes studies relating to the commitment of forensic medicine in the civil field (damage assessment), in the sector of the assessment of medical liability, as clinical support activities (clinical forensic medicine), in the analysis and evaluation of safety of care, in the environmental protection and in general as a collaboration for the protection of rights in the field of public health and the protection of states of need (social assistance).
