Small Molecular Medicines Market Analysis

The market for “small molecular medicines” continues to grow, because of the combination of the increasing use of these medicines to treat acute and chronic diseases, and the increasing needs of an ageing population.

Health spending worldwide is increasing above the allocated resources, putting pressure on the health sector’s budget. Medicine utilization studies, usually small molecular medicine market analyses, provide insights that allow policy makers, budget holders, and healthcare professionals to support them to provide prompt access to effective treatments when appropriate, to make sure that spending on medicines is affordable for the health sector, and to support innovation in long-term medicines by promoting a thriving and sustainable pharmaceutical sector.

We invite you to share your approaches and experiences in analyzing the small medicine(s) market at the institutional (primary/secondary care sectors), national, and international level regarding a medicine, a group of medicines, or even the entire array of medicines utilized over a period of time and the financial impact of their analyses. We hope this Special Issue will inspire other healthcare professionals to share their own analyses, adopt new approaches, and innovate to make improvements.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Pharmacy is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
