Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Terahertz waves have a wide range of promising applications in fields such as security inspections, material detection, and communications. With the development of terahertz photonics, various terahertz techniques have also emerged in recent years. Metamaterials, as subwavelength optical elements, have efficient and abundant modulation capabilities of electromagnetic waves. The design strategy of phase mutation is introduced at the interface, breaking the design limitation of traditional optical components. It provides significant convenience for controlling the wavefront of electromagnetic waves. Based on the generalized Snell law, researchers have proposed a variety of metasurface devices with rich functions, including meta-holography, metalens, vortex beams, vector polarization, surface waves, and so on.

This Special Issue welcomes both simulation and experimental research and addresses the latest progress on Metamaterials and Terahertz Photonics.

  • Biophotonics;
