Pharmaceutical Importance of Plants and Bioactivities of Plants Extract

Dear Colleagues,

The proposed Special Issue aims to explore the pharmaceutical significance of plants and the bioactivities of plant extracts. Plants offer a wide range of natural compounds that can be utilized in drug discovery and development. This Special Issue seeks original research, reviews, and perspectives on various aspects of plant-based pharmaceuticals and their bioactivities.

The scope includes studies on the identification and isolation of bioactive compounds from plants, focusing on investigating their chemical composition, identifying bioactive compounds, and understanding their structures. Additionally, research on the pharmacological activities and mechanisms of action of plant extracts is encouraged, particularly studies elucidating their antimicrobial, anticancer, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory properties.

The Special Issue also welcomes investigations into the development of plant-derived drugs, encompassing preclinical and clinical studies, formulation strategies, pharmacokinetics, and toxicity evaluations. Ethnobotanical studies exploring the traditional uses of plants in different cultures and their potential for modern drug development are also of interest, including investigations on the efficacy, safety, and standardization of traditional plant-based remedies.

Moreover, the Special Issue encourages research that employs biotechnological tools such as tissue culture, genetic engineering, and metabolic engineering to enhance the production of bioactive compounds from plants or modify their properties.

Overall, this Special Issue aims to provide a platform for researchers, scientists, and experts to share their findings and insights regarding the pharmaceutical importance of plants and the bioactivities of plant extracts.
