Feature papers represent the most advanced research with significant potential for high impact in the field. A Feature
Paper should be a substantial original Article that involves several techniques or approaches, provides an outlook for
future research directions and describes possible research applications.
Feature papers are submitted upon individual invitation or recommendation by the scientific editors and must receive
positive feedback from the reviewers.
Editor’s Choice articles are based on recommendations by the scientific editors of MDPI journals from around the world.
Editors select a small number of articles recently published in the journal that they believe will be particularly
interesting to readers, or important in the respective research area. The aim is to provide a snapshot of some of the
most exciting work published in the various research areas of the journal.
The year 2022 marks the 10th anniversary of Resources, an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal on the topic of natural resources. More than 800 papers, from more than 2500 authors, have been published in Resources. More than 1900 reviewers have submitted at least one review report. We value the contributions made by authors and reviewers. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Resources, we are arranging a series of special content and events. We hope that you can join us in celebrating this milestone of our journal.

Resources released its inaugural issue and was published as a quarterly journal.
Founding Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Dr. Richard F. Kazmierczak, Jr.
Prof. Dr. Richard F. Kazmierczak, Jr. has retired from LSU Agricultural Center. His areas of study include resource and environmental economics (with a particular focus on technology and the use of market and non-market mechanisms), as well as the bioeconomics of resource use.
Prof. Dr. Damien Giurco joined Resources as the new Editor-in-Chief. Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Dr. Damien Giurco
Prof. Dr. Damien Giurco is Deputy Director of Research at the Institute for Sustainable Futures. His published work spans over 150 technical reports, academic journal articles and online publications, including in The Conversation. His research interests include mining and metals; urban water; backcasting; industrial ecology; and life cycle assessment.
Resources was indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), Scopus (Elsevier), GeoRef (American Geosciences Institute) and some other databases.
Resources announced the first edition of the Travel Award.
Resources received its first CiteScore™ (3.9).
Resources launched the first Outstanding Reviewer Award and Best Paper Award.
Resources published its 500th paper.
Resources adopted a monthly publication schedule.
Resources received an increased CiteScore (2020) of 4.6.
Prof. Dr. Eva Pongrácz and Prof. Dr. Ben McLellan were promoted to Associate Editors.
