 Comments-Rev-1

This article examined the factors influencing hobbyist’s willing to donate for conservation of a valuable fish species, the wild Betta livida of the Klang Valley’s natural heritage in Malaysia.

The methods used, are clearly stated and the results are properly presented. The article is comprehensive and highly classified in terms of structure.

I like that the authors underlined some weaknesses of their study, declaring  their willing to involve more respondents even outside the species distribution region but also to explore the target species' charisma. I am sure that their future research effort will include these two important options.

The article provides useful information to decision makers  aiming to establish planning tools (i.e trust fund) for the survival of the species. Τhis type of study, even at the preliminary levels is lacking and I absolutely agree that it should be carried out on native freshwater fish, everywhere in the world.

I have no doubt to accept this article in its present form.

Please, find some minor changes:

3 line, change Livida to livida

37 line change Betta livida, to B. livida
47 line insert a space in 40mm
31 line change B. Coccina to B. coccina
167 line I think an "is" lacking
304 change Table 3 to Table 2

352 line/ B1 Idenbtified B livida Conservation. frequency value 9% seems not to be correct.

359 line. 68% may should change to 32%.

Manyuscript "Fish Hobbyists' Willingness to Donate For Wild Fighting Fish (Betta Livida) Conservation In Klang Valley" submitted to the magazine Sustainability (MDPI) is interesting and brings new information on the subject of the breeding breed (Betta livida). However, it seems that the manuscript was sent to the wrong journal. In addition, the methodology of work requires more detail. Corrections also require English. The manuscript should be thoroughly modernized before it is re-reviewed.

It is a good work on Betta livida that deserves to be published, since it is an endemic species with a restricted area of distribution. However, I suggest the following to the authors: 1) The number of respondents is small. 2) Among those surveyed there are few specialists, which could mislead the identification of the species, and be confused with other similar ones. 3) They must propose improvements for the conservation of the habitat of this species.
