Environmentally Responsible Business Approaches in Azerbaijan
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The submitted study is the first study that elaborates on eco-entrepreneurship and environmental sensitivity of companies operating in Azerbaijan were examined within the scope of environmental practices. The study is predicated on the primary data collection in Azerbaijan. In the study, the authors assess the drivers of ecovironmentally sustainable practices. The employed statistical methods are fine. In addition to this, I also recommend the employment of a t-test in the context of the hypotheses and regression analysis. A miltivariate regression would make absolutely sense. In total the paper is a valuable contribution because there are really few studies on transition economies in the present context.

Dear Authors,
Thank you for your interesting paper. It is a timely topic specially for the developing/emerging markets where concept of eco-entrepreneurship is yet to become mainstream. The positive side of the paper is that the authors presented an integrative view of the eco-entrepreneurship. However, there are rooms for further improvement before it can be considered for publication.
- please develop theoretically each hypothesis preferably separately and improve the wording of the hypothesis.
- Please add a section on discussions.
- Please add comparison/contrasting of your findings with the current literature.
- Please improve the writing style and need editing by native speakers.
- Thank you.

Reviewer 3 Report
This article has severe shortcomings. The contents of “Introduction” and “Green Business” are not sufficient. The contributions of this study should be in the Introduction. Meanwhile, some concepts and contents are irrelevant to this research in the Green Business section. This study also lacks a review of previous research related. The empirical analysis lacks reliability and robustness tests. More detailed comments are as follows:
(1) The main content and contribution of this paper, as well as previous research in this field, should be reflected in the introduction.
(2) In the second part of Green Business, there are too many irrelevant contents, such as “three main features of green entrepreneur”(Figure 1), “Factors Affecting Ecopreneurship”(Figure 2), “Arguments for social responsibility”(Figure 3), “Forces driving ecopreneurship”(Figure 4) and so on, which need to be simplified. It also needs to explain why the environmental sensitivity of companies should be measured from four dimensions of consumption, production, financial and technology. This paper lacks relevant theoretical foundation.
(3) In the Table 2, Gender, Position in Business and Education Level have nothing to do with research content.
(4) The premise of ANOVA is that data should obey normal distribution and meet the condition of random sampling. It needs to be explained in Part 4 “Material and Methods”.
(5) In Consumption Dimension, “There should be laws regulating environmental awareness” may have effect on both consumers and producers.
(6) The results of Tukey post-hoc should be showed in this paper.
(7) The shortcomings of the article and more research that can be extended should be showed in this paper.

Thank you for this comment. In fact, all of the factors that affect environmentally friendly actions are in frequent interaction with each other and it is quite difficult to draw a line between some of them. This statement is also one of the relevant factors. |
